To start using eBay File Exchange:

1. Download and read the File Exchange Advanced Instructions (pdf).

2. Select an eBay File Exchange template to download.

The template that you select should depend on the category in which your list your items:

• Download the eBay File Exchange Catalog Listing template if you are using ISBN or UPC codes to list items in the following categories: Books, Movies, Music, and Video Games. This template uses ISBN and UPC codes to prefill item specifics automatically.
• Use the eBay File Exchange Template Generator if you are a seller in all other categories who wants to create a custom template.

3. Fill in the File Exchange template.

Tips:

• Read the File Exchange Advanced Instructions (pdf).
• Complete all required fields for the actions that you are completing.
• Use caution when modifying file headers.

5. Upload file.
Upload your file from the eBay File Exchange Upload page or programmatically via script. Learn more about uploading your file.

6. Check upload status and results.
